So I've totally re-done the look and feel of my website. The functionality is pretty much the same, although I feel it is now far more true to its purpose. The site had gone in a quite 'design' oriented direction for a while and lost a lot of its charm. Now that I have a separate company for all that (www.xequals.co.nz) I thought it appropriate to push this site in a more artistic direction. The goal was to make every part of the site look like something created by hand, whether it be typewritten text, handwritten text (the handwriting font is actually my own handwriting!) or painted backgrounds, sketches in place of photos for many of the news posts etc. The main thing that sticks out as not natural is the facebook like buttons, but not too much can be done with that without heavy code hacking.
Also worthy of note is fast approaching travel opportunities. Alex and I are 90% likely to be going overseas quite soon on a business trip for 3-4 months in the middle east, teaching students how to develop websites in Drupal. It will be a fantastic first trip out of NZ for me, and a great opportunity to grow our business. YAY!
Look out for the leaving party coming soon ;)
